“Do not disturb!” this is the must behind the brand over the last few seasons. “Do not disturb!” emphasizes the total commitment and full focus on what makes the brand grow, thanks to the increasing differentiation between Male and Female, to the launch of the new footwear collection resulting from the license agreement signed with a specialized Italian company, leader in its sector, and to the development of all product categories turning Cycle into a real total look collection.
Cycle approaches International markets with different themes, emotions and adventures, translating each season into a product with an innovative mood but with a highly identified design and with a product offer that well meet any every-day style request ranging from formal to leisure.
Designed by Andrea Bertin for menswear and Elena Boaretto for womenswear, Cycle SS12 collection draws its inspiration from the lively and colorful scenarios – both real and fancy – of the South Seas. The collection is an original Cycle reinterpretation of the styles and trends described in adventure stories, set in the Indian Ocean and its paradise islands where European and Indian cultures meet and give life to the different themes of the collection, each with its own fabrics, shapes and colors.
LODGE/RESORT- this is the most formal part of the collection, ideally set in an Indian resort where the theme is developed with blue and orange bright color variations, dyed linen suits and double-breasted jackets, jersey and Japanese denims interspersed with pink and yellow ochre nuances; trench and raincoats. The logo itself is enriched by motives hinting back at the traditional symbols from India. Cycle Lady has a wide range of skinny pants, dyed options, light bull denims, skin-tight satin silhouettes, micro-prints and micro-fantasies such as horseshoes, polka-dots. Colors stretch from butter to khaki, from mud to grey with curry nuances, lilac, twilight purple, Indian orange.
This theme features a versatile pant, easy to wear for the day and Cycle-stylish for the evening, detailed with zippers that make it more sensual and tailored to silhouettes. This part is completed by sweat-shorts, preppy-classic chinos with bottom frill and pant models with zip details to make them more aggressive.
BLACK SEA: this is the transposition of a contemporary-metropolitan world with the “warriors of the seas”; Cycle Man is a modern pirate with pieces characterized by extreme worn-out and washed treatments in various dark oil color variations; there is a series of dark and oiled pieces obtained with a special manual treatment covering to complete the interpretation of today’s metropolitan world with the reign of the sea. Cycle Lady may choose among a leisure pant, an evening chino with Cycle typical side band and a studded gabardine jacket. All variegated colors, widely ranging from oil green to black and butter, are featured by a coated treatment with oiled effect.
CASTAWAY: An imaginary couple, lost in a far-away land out at sea, completes this trip through fashion: faded, destroyed and worn-out pieces matched by the most extreme broken, mended and treated denims. Cycle Man is rich in sun-faded pastel colors, manually stitching together what little remains of worn-out clothes, ranging from chinos to denim shorts to chambray shirts, all “creatively” worn-out through extreme treatments that enhance their dirty, destroyed look. Cycle Lady stretched from high-waist, superskinny 5-pockets to T-shirts with deeply sun-faded colors and aged look to details rich in embroideries, studs, gems, mirrors, paillettes and laces that turn Cycle pieces into real treasures found at sea. Colors range from aluminum to mud, a variety of khaki, from musk green to “Holiday” aquamarine up to a “Papaya Punch” fluo orange.
FULL MOON: the couple is saved by a group of friends who are crossing the Indian Ocean in a luxury yacht, in their quest for the perfect “Full Moon Party”, an all-around-the-clock party on the beach that revives the mood of the 80’s and brings back to the real world. Menswear is designed in bright, vibrant colors; prints are developed in acid-fluo variations; and this time the fil rouge is a SMILE logo, dripping here and there, revisited and reinterpreted in colors and variations. Black and White are combined with bright fluo greens, pinks and yellows, unquestioned key-players of the “Full Moon Party”. Womens’ is centered on prints and graphics: a Cycle-smile, a crazy mushroom, the moon, the lightning and the star – all elements to play with and creatively interpreted in a series of variants, from patches to paillettes, that make every single item rich and precious. Colors are strong: fluo pink, emerald green, royal blue, mixed in a variety of 80’s animalier and zebra-style prints that cross categories from sweatshirts to denim bull. Fluo prints are combined with blacks and whites. The idea of an exotic journey, far away from everyday life, is translated into a design offer of models and options that anticipate trends and that include swimwear, silk pants of Arabic inspiration, asymmetrical or one-shoulder tops, an interesting range of silk bomber pieces, shirts, fringed caftans and parka.
This part includes the big news of the season, ie the beach-wear package: swimwear, beach towels and bags, armlets and accessories, developed in 4 themes as a real celebration of summertime that, together with the shoes, make Cycle a truly total look brand.
